Coarse Pebbles for any project. Our sand is natural beach sand, dyed to brilliant, beautiful colors, then rinsed to clear it of excess stain . You can mix sand colors to create custom hybrid colors.


Create your own sand pictures and mandalas. Monks use a special tool for their mandalas, but you can make your own version. All you need is a straw. Sketch a cartoon of your design on your surface. Fill your straw with sand, keeping your finger covering the bottom hole. Lift your finger off the opening any time you want the sand to come out. You can also make a funnel out of rolled-up card stock or paper to hold a lot of sand for big areas.


Save some clear glass bottles, or find some neat ones from the thrift store. Fill them with many layers of different color sands. Make sure to fill them all the way to the very top, and cap/cork it.


Add sand to epoxy, polyester, or urethane casting resin for a unique look and/or rough surface texture. Sand looks very neat inside of clear casting resins. Sand can also be mixed with acrylic painting mediums, for a coarse, sandy texture. Liquitex makes a sand medium for over 10 bucks per jar. Make your own custom mediums that work better for your specific needs. You will save some cash in the process too!


Dampen your colored sand with some water in a plastic-lined box. Dig a shallow hole in the middle, (careful not to dig too far) run some candle wick in the center of the hole up to the surface. Pour melted paraffin or beeswax into the hole in the sand. When you pull it out, you will have a very unique, organic-shaped sand candle. People have been making Sand-cast candles for a long time. it's a simple process, and with colored sand, can produce some really nice results.
