These are best quality American made grommets. Size 1 roughly translates to 11/16" or 18 mm outside diameter. Grommets are a two part fastener for all kinds of materials including leather, canvas, vinyl, rubber, fabrics, etc. They can be used to fasten two pieces together, or to make a protected hole for ties or straps. Make sure your materials are not thicker than 3/32" or 2mm thick.
The inside diameter in the grommet hole is 9/32" or 7 mm.
Solid brass is a gold color.
